Kinematix Overview

Agile Planet’s Kinematix library is an intelligent robotic manipulation engine that is easily integrated with industrial robots. The core of the Kinematix library is based on exclusive technology originally developed at the University of Texas at Austin. The development of the library was funded on various projects including those from NASA, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The library has over 1,000 users worldwide and is the underlying foundation for Agile Planet’s robotic products and applications.

Agile Planet’s Kinematix library is continually evolving to incorporate the latest advancements in robotic motion, simulation, collision prevention, sensor integration, and industrial field bus support. Our independence from robot and control vendors permits us to expose new capabilities across the industry such that advancements aren’t proprietary to a specific control or robot platform.

Kinematix is the foundation for:

  • RLX - full featured PLC based robotic control environment
  • RLX I3 - open robot control environment for research and product development
  • Kinematix-M - robot kinematics software for select Motoman arms
  • AgileMedix - radio therapy treatment room simulation application
